DISTRIBUTION: C. & S. America.
TYPE LOCALITY: Brazil.
BELIZE RECORDS: Greenhills; Augustine.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: kindly identified for me by Pat Haynes. Adult illustrated in black and white by Hampson (1901) p. 174, text fig. 96.
NOTES: this is a reasonably distinctive species and it seems likely that the identification is correct
