TYPE LOCALITY: Brazil, Costa Rica.
BELIZE RECORDS: Maya Beach; Greenhills; Pook's Hill.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: adult illustrated in black and white by Hampson (1901) page 87, text fig. 63.
NOTES: this is a distinctive species and the identification appears to be certain. The female has a more elongated forewing white postdiscal spot than the male.
