DISTRIBUTION: southern USA; Mexico; Central America.
TYPE LOCALITY: Mexico.
BELIZE RECORDS: Greenhills; Lamanai.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: adult illustrated by Seitz (1925) plate 40, fig. h1. Identification confirmed by Comte Hervé de Toulgoët.
NOTES: I am not entirely happy with this identification as the whole genus needs revision and I am sure contains many species in synonymy. It is probably the best name that we can give at present.
