DISTRIBUTION: unknown.
BELIZE RECORDS: Lubaantun.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: clearly a Hypercompe as this is a very distinctive genus.
NOTES: the single specimen I took at Lubaantun is a female, as shown by the more rounded hindwing tornus than in males. It could be the female of one of the four species already catalogued, or it could be a fifth species for Belize.
