Idalus vitrea borealis
DISTRIBUTION: Central and South America in a number of subspecies of which
borealis is the Central American form.
TYPE LOCALITY: (species) Surinam; (subspecies) Mexico.
BELIZE RECORDS: Pook's Hill; Augustine; La Milpa; Las Cuevas.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: adult illustrated in colour by Seitz (1925) pl. 52, fig. h1
and by Rothschild in Novitates Zoologicae 16 pl. 7, fig. 3.
NOTES: this identification appears to be reasonably certain.
