DISTRIBUTION: South & Central America.
TYPE LOCALITY: Venezuela.
BELIZE RECORDS: Las Cuevas.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: illustrated in colour by Seitz (1925) plate 45, figs. b1 and b2. Also illustrated in black and white by Hampson (1901) p. 15, text fig.5.
NOTES: this identification appears reasonably certain despite the Type Locality as it is a very distinctive species.
