DISTRIBUTION: southern USA to Brazil.
TYPE LOCALITY: Brazil.
BELIZE RECORDS: Recorded by Meerman (1999) from Corozal, Orange Walk, Cayo, Stann Creek and Toledo.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: illustrated in colour by d’Abrera (1986) p. 103. Very difficult to distinguish between this species and C. falcifera, but the latter has more falcate forewing tips than the former.
