DISTRIBUTION: southern USA to Chile; Antilles.
TYPE LOCALITY: 'America'.
BELIZE RECORDS: Greenhills; Pook’s Hill.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: illustrated in colour by d`Abrera (1986) p. 95 and by Hodges (1971) plate 9 fig. 2.
NOTES: there is some sexual dimorphism, as illustrated. The larva is the yellow, red and black ‘Frangipani Worm’.
