DISTRIBUTION: Mexico & Belize.
TYPE LOCALITY: Vera Cruz, Mexico.
BELIZE RECORDS: Greenhills; Augustine.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: identified by Jan Meerman from my misidentified illustration in my unpublished 1997/98 Belize moths report. Adult illustrated in colour by Seitz (1925) plate 102, fig. a3.
NOTES: Rothschildia lebeau Guerin-Meneville, which is similar to R. roxana except for the very much thicker white band around the ‘neck’ of the former, is also found in Belize according to Meerman (1999).
