Episcepsis inornata

DISTRIBUTION: southern USA; Central America.
TYPE LOCALITY: 'West coast of America'.
BELIZE RECORDS: Greenhills; Augustine.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: the adult is illustrated by Hampson (1898) plate 14, fig. 23 and by Seitz (1925) pl. 20, fig. c3. The adult has paired scarlet spots on the vertex; paired scarlet spots on the shoulders and scarlet fore-coxae. The forewing apices are black. Using an unpublished provisional key by Julian Donahue (pers. comm.) my specimens keyed out to this species.
NOTES: This identification is subject to confirmation by genitalial dissection. This is a difficult genus with many very similar species.
