Macrocneme spp. complex

DISTRIBUTION: (genus) tropical Americas.
TYPE LOCALITY: various.
BELIZE RECORDS: Greenhills; Pook's Hill; Las Cuevas; Augustine.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: This complex includes 30 species revised comprehensively by Dietz (1994) which are only really separable on the basis of genitalial dissection. Species listed from Belize include: M. adonis Druce; M. chrysitis Guerin-Meneville; M. cabimensis Dyar and M. lades Cramer. Doubtless there will be others. I have not yet dissected my specimens to determine species.
