DISTRIBUTION: C. & S. America.
TYPE LOCALITY: Mexico.
BELIZE RECORDS: Greenhills.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: adult illustrated in colour by Druce (1884)
(as clavipennis)
on plate 72, fig. 11 and by Seitz (1925) plate 20 fig. a5.
NOTES: Also known as Pterygopterus
caeruleus. This appears to be a distinctive species and the identification is
not in much doubt.
