Lirimiris lignitecta

DISTRIBUTION: C. (& S.?) America.
TYPE LOCALITY: unknown to me.
BELIZE RECORDS: Pook’s Hill; La Milpa; Greenhills; Augustine.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: kindly identified for me by Dr. Paul Thiacourt. Adult lignitecta illustrated in colour by Seitz (1925) plate 147, fig. d5. and Druce (1884) plate 91, fig. 20. My specimens from Belize have a very much darker forewing dorsum than those illustrated by Seitz (1925).
NOTES: this identification could be confirmed one way or the other by genitalial dissection, but I have not yet had time to do this.
