DISTRIBUTION: southern USA to Guyanas; Antilles.
TYPE LOCALITY: Surinam.
BELIZE RECORDS: Greenhills; Pook’s Hill; Lamanai; Augustine.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: by comparison with specimens in my collection from the West Indies identified as this species by Claude Herbulot. Rindge (1957) illustrates adult and genitalia.
NOTES: this species is highly variable - two forms are illustrated.
