Pero stuposaria

DISTRIBUTION: C. & S. America.
TYPE LOCALITY: Brazil.
BELIZE RECORDS: Maya Beach; Greenhills.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: illustrated by Poole (1987) figs. 54 & 55 (adult male and female) and figs. 473, 475-483 (genitalia).
NOTES: this species is extremely similar to P. immundaria Walker, whose range is given as Brazil to Argentina by Poole (1987). In fact, the genitalia of one of my specimens matches those of immundaria better than it does stuposaria. I am sticking with stuposaria as an identification for my specimens for now as its range is given as ‘Guatemala to Brazil’ by Poole (1987); however, my specimens from Belize may be a new species.
