Thysanopyga amarantha

DISTRIBUTION: C. & S. America; Trinidad.
TYPE LOCALITY: Brazil.
BELIZE RECORDS: Greenhills; Lamanai; Pook’s Hill.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: this genus is revised, with illustrations of all adults and genitalia, by Kruger & Scoble (1992). T. amarantha is illustrated in figs. 12-19 (adult) and 120 & 154 (male and female genitalia).
NOTES: the adult of this species is fairly distinctive so I have not dissected. For totally certain identification comparison of genitalia with these illustrations is desirable.
