TYPE LOCALITY: Surinam.
BELIZE RECORDS: Greenhills (melanic form); Pook’s Hill; Greenhills; Augustine
(normal form).
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: kindly identified by Claude Herbulot from my photograph.
NOTES: adult and genitalia illustrated by Rindge (1961) plate 22, figs. 2 & 3
(adult) and text figs. 25 & 41 (male & female genitalia). The subspecies from
Belize is described as phala by Rindge (1961). There are normal and
melanic forms of this species, as illustrated.
