DISTRIBUTION: Central America; Antilles.
TYPE LOCALITY: unknown.
BELIZE RECORDS: Greenhills; Pook's Hill; Las Cuevas.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: illustrated in black and white (as 'Palpita aurocostalis')
by Amsel (1954) pl. 93, fig. 4. (adult) and pl. 46, fig. 2 (male genitalia).
NOTES: although this species is superficially similar to the numerous species in the genus Palpita its
genitalia are quite distinctive and it can easily be distinguished from members of the latter genus on
facies due to the complete lack of dark markings on the forewing and the greater squareness
to its forewings.
