Herpetogramma phaeopteralis
DISTRIBUTION: Central and South America; Antilles.
TYPE LOCALITY: 'South America'.
BELIZE RECORDS: Greenhills.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: by comparison with specimens in my collection from the West
Indies identified as this species by Dr. Eugene Munroe of Ottawa.
NOTES: this identification requires confirmation. It appears to be one of the most common and
widespread neotropical pyraustines but there are a number of quite similar species.
