Hymenia perspectalis
DISTRIBUTION: Worldwide (in warmer regions).
TYPE LOCALITY: 'Europe'.
BELIZE RECORDS: Greenhills.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: by comparison with specimens in my collection from the
West Indies identified as this species by Dr. Eugene Munroe of Ottawa.
NOTES: this is a common and widespread species unlikely to be mistaken for anything else.
The larva is the 'Beet Webworm', a minor pest of beets.
