Synchlora chlorophasma
DISTRIBUTION: Central and South America; Antilles.
TYPE LOCALITY: Jamaica.
BELIZE RECORDS: Greenhills.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: by comparison with specimens in my collection from
the West Indies identified as this species by Dr. Eugene Munroe of Ottawa. Illustrated
in black and white by Amsel (1954) (as 'traducalis' Zeller), pl. 82, fig. 2.
NOTES: this is a quite characteristic species but there seems to be some confusion
over the application of the names traducalis and chlorophasma.
