SUBFAMILY DESCRIPTION
The SARROTHRIPINAE may be a natural group as all species have a characteristic
boat-shaped cocoon and raised scales on the forewing. The adults are quite
brightly coloured.

I have only collected one provisionally-identified species from Belize in this
subfamily so far,
