OCR (Oxford, Cambridge and RSA Examinations). Formed from the
merger of the old Oxford Local Examinations Syndicate; the University
of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate(UCLES) and the Oxford and
Cambridge Examination Boards (OCEAC), as well as the RSA. Also
administers MEG GCSE examinations.
Edexcel Foundation. Formed from the merger of the University of London
Examinations Board and BTEC.
AQA (Assessment and Qualifications Alliance). Formed from the merger of
the old Associated Examining Board (AEB); the Northern Examinations and
Assessment Board (NEAB) and City and Guilds. Also administers SEG GCSE
examinations.
Cambridge International Examinations. Administers the IGCSE.
WJEC - the examination board for Wales, but now very popular
with many private English schools for its 'traditional' approach.
