Distribution: Central and South America; Trinidad; St. Vincent; Grenadines; Grenada.
Type locality: Brazil.
E. Caribbean records: St. Vincent; Grenada.
Grenadines records: Union (Daudin, July & Nov. 1997); Union (E.U. Exp. No. 236).
Method of identification: kindly identified to genus by staff at the USNM, Washington, from my photograph. Hampson (1898) lists this species from St. Vincent and Grenada.
