Distribution: Mexico to Argentina; Antilles.
Type locality: 'West Indies'.
E. Caribbean records: St. Lucia; Guadeloupe; Martinique.
Grenadines records: Union Is. (Daudin Nov. 1990).
Method of identification: illustrated in colour by d’Abrera (1986) p.23 and by Hodges (1971) plate 1, fig. 3.
Notes: The larva feeds on various Annonaceae. The adult appears to be quite strongly migratory and disappears for long periods and then reappears
