Type locality: USA.
Synonyms: Agrotis inspinosa Guenee 1852; Noctua robusta Blanchard 1852; Agrotis consueta Walker 1857; Agrotis submucosa Herrich-Schaeffer 1868.
E. Caribbean records: Guadeloupe.
Grenadines records: specimen in the Exeter University Grenadines Expedition collection without locality or other data.
Method of identification: adult & genitalia illustrated in colour on website on French Antilles Lepidoptera by Zagatti, Lalanne-Cassou & Le Duchat d'Aubigny.
Notes: the larva is a pest on a wide variety of crops and garden plants.
