Recommended Hours/Timing

| Home |

It usually takes me about 60 to 80 hours to cover a standard A-level course in one-to- one tuition from 'scratch' (for modular courses this has worked out at an average of 15 to 20 hours per module). More time has needed to be allowed for running through past papers and for specialist syllabuses such as Human Biology. For a one-year course, three terms of ten weeks with three tutorials per week has always been the recommended norm, although I have also done 'crash courses' on request - cramming these hours into one term - with varying degrees of success, depending on the ability and commitment of the student.

For pupils still at school, one lesson per week is the norm. I can, however, make almost any arrangement to suit your needs. Please ask.

I keep approximate school terms and am available throughout the academic year and am sometimes available over the Christmas vacation - although the summer vacation is sacrosanct!

During the Easter vacation, as well as carrying on teaching my 'regular' students who wish to continue over Easter (or indeed increase their number of tutorials) I also take on many extra students who wish to have revision tuition before their examinations but who prefer coming to me for one-to-one tuition rather than going to one of the many Easter Revision Courses (where tuition is almost always in small groups unless specially arranged).
