Trichromia (?) sp. indet. 1
This rare species is apparently an undescribed Jamaican endemic. I
sent my only specimen, caught near Mavis Bank in April 1988, to John Rawlins at the
Carnegie Museum for "immediate description" (!) in 1989. There is a further
specimen in the
Carnegie Museum taken by Avinoff at Hardwar Gap in December 1932
(John Rawlins, pers. comm.); one in the IOJ collection with data
"Mandeville, Manchester, May 17-20 1958, F. Seal Coon" (Tom Turner,
pers. comm.) and a further one in Tom Turner’s collection from Worthy
Pond, St. Catharine, Feb. 11 1972.
