Macrosoma rubedinaria
Distribution: Mexico and Central America to Amazonia; Cuba; Jamaica; Trinidad.
Type locality: Honduras.
Source of record: Scoble (1990) p. 157.
Method of identification: illustrated by Scoble (1990) fig. 41
(adult) 75, 121, 125 (genitalia etc.).
Notes: a specimen loaned to me by Dr. Frederick Rindge at the American Museum of Natural History from
Jamaica determined as M. rubedinaria by Dr. Malcolm Scoble appears to be a species which
I took in Jamaica which dissection shows to be a new species. The record of this species for Jamaica
may therefore not be correct if based solely upon this material. The illustrated specimen
is from Belize.
