Urania poeyi
Distribution: Cuba (and apparently Jamaica as a stray).
Type locality: Cuba.
Source of record: specimen collected by Dahlia Reynolds, undergraduate
of U.W.I., 1987 (specimen illustrated here).
Method of identification: illustrated in colour by Seitz (1925) pl. 138,
fig. b2.
Notes: the specimen illustrated here agrees better with the illustration of
U. poeyi on plate 121, figs. 6 & 7 of Felder & Rogenhofer 1874 than with
the Seitz illustration. poeyi is very similar to U. fulgens Boisduval
from Central America - they
may in fact be the same species.
