Distribution: (species) Paraguay to Mexico; (subspecies jamaicensis) Jamaica.
Type locality: (species) Surinam; (subspecies) Jamaica.
Synonyms: Ambulyx rostralisAmbulyx janus Boisduval 1870; Ambulyx daphne Boisduval 1870; Ambulyx sexoculata Butler 1877 (not Grote 1867).
