Distribution: southern Texas to Costa Rica; Antilles.
Type locality: USA (?)
Synonyms: Nystalea nyseus form collaris; Nystalea quaesita Draudt 1932.

Method of identification: illustrated in black and white by Todd (1973) fig. 4. My specimen kindly identified by Dr. Paul Thiacourt, Paris
Notes: Todd (1973) notes that there are no authenticated records from the Greater Antilles for the related species N. nyseus Cramer.
