Melipotis agrotoides
Distribution: tropical and subtropical America.
Type locality: Venezuela.
Synonyms: Bolina agrotipennis Harvey 1875.
Source of record: listed by Gowdey (1926) p. 68 (as 'Gerespa agrotoides').
Method of identification: my specimens from the Lesser Antilles identified by comparison
of genitalial dissections with drawings kindly provided by Bernard Lalanne-Cassou of
Paris. Illustrated in black and white by Richards (1939) pl. 1, figs 8 & 9 (adult)
and pl.6,
fig. 3 (genitalia).
