Distribution: southern USA.
Type locality: North America.
Synonyms: Phurys lima Guenee 1852; Poaphila dissocians Walker 1858; Poaphila obversa Walker 1858; Celiptera bifasciata Bates 1886.
Source of record: listed by Gowdey (1926) p. 66 (as 'Phurys lima').
Method of identification: illustrated in colour by Hampson (1913b) pl. 224, fig.7 and in black and white by Kimball (1965) pl. 15, fig. 12 (as'Ptichodis lima').
Notes: this record seems odd for Jamaica, given the range of the species.
