Method of identification: illustrated in black & white by Todd & Poole
(1980) figs. 2 & 3 (adults) and figs. 28 & 43 (genitalia).
Notes: this species is sexually dimorphic, as illustrated - the male resembles
S. ornithogalli and the female resembles S. exigua Hubner 1796 . The
larva is the 'Fall Armyworm'.
