Distribution: southern USA to Argentina; Antilles.
Type locality: French Guyana.
Synonyms: Homoptera guadulpensis Guenee 1852; Homoptera terrosa Guenee 1852; Homoptera gradata Walker 1858; Homoptera posterior Walker 1858 .
Source of record: listed by Gowdey (1926) p. 67 (as 'Zale terrosa'); Jamaica is Type Locality of Homoptera posterior; M.J.C.B. collection.
