Type locality: South America.
Source of record: Listed by Gowdey (1926) (as' Sylepta elevata').
Synonyms: Astura elevalis Guenee 1854; Sylepta grandimacula Dognin 1912.
Method of identification: illustrated in black and white by Amsel (1956) (as 'Astura elevalis') pl. 82, fig. 9 (adult) and pl. 22, fig. 4 (genitalia).
