DISTRIBUTION: S. & C. America; Antilles; southern USA; Madagascar; Africa; Far East.
TYPE LOCALITY: India.
BELIZE RECORDS: Greenhills.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: by comparison with identified specimens in my collection.
NOTES: Formerly known by its synonym 'Maruca testulalis' this is a very characteristic species, unlikely to be confused with anything else. The larva is a minor pantropical pest species of Legume crops and the species is commonly known as the 'Bean Pod Moth'.
