Leucanella acutissima

DISTRIBUTION: Mexico, Guatemala & Belize.
TYPE LOCALITY: Mexico.
BELIZE RECORDS: Greenhils; Augustine; La Milpa.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: illustrated in colour by d’Abrera (1995) p. 137.
NOTES: I had thought this to be a characteristic species with considerably more falcate forewing tips than leucane. However, according to Lemaire (as reported in Meerman (1999)), all specimens with more than 30 antennal segments are referable to leucane - only specimens with less than this figure are, according to Lemaire, L. acutissima.
