Leucanella leucane

DISTRIBUTION: Mexico, Belize.
TYPE LOCALITY: Mexico.
BELIZE RECORDS: La Milpa.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: illustrated in colour by d’Abrera (1995) p. 137.
NOTES: I had thought this to be a characteristic species with considerably less falcate forewing tips than acutissima. However, according to Lemaire (as reported in Meerman (1999)), only specimens with more than 30 antennal segments are referable to this species - any specimens with less than this figure are, according to Lemaire, L. acutissima.
