Synchlora gerularia
DISTRIBUTION: southern USA; C. & S. America; Antilles.
TYPE LOCALITY: Surinam.
BELIZE RECORDS: Pook’s Hill; Greenhills; Lamanai; La Milpa.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: by comparison with identified specimens in my collection
from French Guyana and the West Indies. Adult and genitalia illustrated by Ferguson
(1985) pl. 3 fig. 73 (adult) and text figs. 22 1.j & 23k (genitalia).
NOTES: the larval foodplant is given by Scoble (1999) as various Compositae
such as Baccharis genistelloides and Baccharis salicina.
