Spodoptera dolichos

DISTRIBUTION: Tropical America.
TYPE LOCALITY: 'Americae Meridionalis'.
BELIZE RECORDS: Greenhills.
METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION: adult and genitalia are illustrated in black and white by Todd & Poole (1980) fig. 15 (adult) and figs. 35 and 49 (male and female genitalia). The two dark bars on the thorax are diagnostic in fresh specimens; in worn specimens it is necessary to dissect genitalia to distinguish this species from its close relatives.
