Method of identification: by comparison with other members of this genus in my collection.
Notes: this is a complex of nearly identical species only easily distinguished by dissection, particularly when - as is the case here - the material is damaged. The larvae of this group of species are often pests on various Cucurbitaceae such as cucumbers, melons and squashes.
