SUBFAMILY DESCRIPTION
The subfamily EPIPASCHIINAE is a mainly tropical and subtropical group which includes species which superficially resemble Noctuidae ((Scoble 1992). The labial palps often curve back over the head and characteristic tufts of scales are present on the forewings and quite often on the body at the junction of the thorax and abdomen. Heppner (1995) lists 279 named species in this subfamily from the Neotropics.
