MOTHS OF JAMAICA
SPECIES LISTS BY FAMILY
Hyblaeidae

| BACK TO LIST OF MOTH FAMILIES |

The Hyblaeidae are a very small family of about 20 species found throughout the new and old world tropics and subtropics. Their taxonomic position is unclear - at various times they have been associated with the Pyralidae and at other times with the Noctuidae, but at present the family is placed in its own superfamily - the Hyblaeoidea.

I have recorded only one species of this family in Jamaica to date, as listed below - please click on the species name to go to a colour illustration of the adult and brief information on the species.
