Distribution: tropical and subtropical America.
Type locality: 'Europe' (America).
Synonyms: Agrotis incivis Guenee 1852; Agrotis prodenoides Walker 1857; Laphygma praecipua Walker 1869; Graphiphora bartholemica Wallengren 1871; Anicla alabamae Grote 1874; Prodenia pauper Butler 1878; Agrotis incisa Gundlach 1881; Agrotis mulina Moeschler 1886.
