Distribution: tropical and subtropical America.
Type locality: Guadeloupe.
Synonyms: Herminia tagusalis Walker 1859.

Notes: according to Kimball (1965) orneodalis females lack the dark diagonal mark from
the forewing apex which is present in alucitalis females. The males may be distinguished
as alucitalis has longer palps than orneodalis.
