Type locality: 'Europe'.
Synonyms: Many (see Poole (1989) p. 785).
Source of record: listed by Gowdey (1926) p. 62 (as 'Lycophotia margaritosa').
Method of identification: illustrated in black and white by Kimball (1965) pl. 11, fig. 20 (as 'Peridroma margaritosa').
Notes: the larva is the 'Variegated Cutworm', a pest on a wide range of crops.
