Type locality: Dominican Republic.
Synonyms: Phalaena oo Stoll 1782; Plusia hamifera Walker 1858; Plusia culta Lintner 1885; Plusia dyaus Grote 1875.
Source of record: listed by Gowdey (1926) p. 67 (as 'Autographa dyans').

Notes: the larva is the 'Soybean Looper'.
