Pseudaletia unipuncta




Distribution: Canada to Bolivia; Jamaica; south-western Europe.
Type locality: 'England' (probably USA).
Synonyms: Leucania extranea Guenee 1852; Leucania antica Walker 1856.
Source of record: M.J.C.B. collection; listed by Gowdey (1926) (as'Cirphis unipuncta').
Method of identification: my specimens kindly identified by Bernard Lalanne-Cassou, Paris. Genitalia illustrated by Franclemont (1951) pl. 10, figs. 10, 11 and 12; pl. 11, fig. 13; pl. 16, figs. 33 & 34.
Notes: this group of species is revised by Franclemont (1951). The name unipuncta was previously applied to eight or nine species worldwide. The similar species Ps. sequax also occurs in Jamaica.
